Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for Still Here, a privacy-first iOS app for couples after conflict.
Effective: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Still Here (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use our iOS application (“Still Here”) and visit our website at https://getstillhere.app.
We believe in straightforward, plain-language privacy information. If you have questions after reading this policy, please contact us at sales@ries-beratungen.de.

The responsible party for data processing under applicable data protection law is:

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide When Using the App
Still Here is a private check-in and soft-signal app for couples after conflict. When you use the app, you may provide:
- Check-in data — feelings, deeper feelings, needs, and intensity ratings you log privately.
- Private notes and reflections — free-form text you add to your check-ins or reflections.
- Tone Check input and results — text you submit for optional tone analysis and any suggested rewrites. This data is processed entirely on your device.
- Soft signals and replies — messages you choose to send to your partner, including optional intent labels and scheduled talk times.
- Pattern insight data — derived locally from your private check-in history (Plus feature).
Your partner never sees your check-ins, private notes, reflections, Tone Check input or results, unsent drafts, pattern insights, device capability, or subscription status. Only the final soft-signal text, intent label, optional scheduled talk time, and reply type that you explicitly choose to send are shared with your partner.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically on the Website
When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically collects technical information such as:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Date and time of access
- Pages visited
This data is collected for the purpose of operating and securing the website. We do not use analytics services, cookies for tracking, or third-party analytics on our website.
2.3 App Store Data
When you download Still Here from the Apple App Store, Apple may collect certain information as described in Apple’s own privacy policy. We do not receive personally identifiable information from Apple unless you choose to contact us directly.
2.4 Subscription and Payment Data
Still Here uses Apple’s StoreKit 2 in-app purchase framework to process subscriptions and RevenueCat as a purchase and subscription management provider to validate App Store receipts and deliver entitlement status. All payment information — including credit card details and billing information — is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and is never accessible to us. We do not collect or store payment information.
RevenueCat, acting as a data processor on our behalf, may receive and process the following information solely for the purpose of managing your subscription:
- An anonymous, RevenueCat-generated app user identifier (no custom account ID, Apple ID, email address, or personal identifier is provided by the app).
- Receipt, transaction, and subscription metadata, including product identifier (e.g.,
com.ries.stillhere.plus.yearlyyyorcom.ries.stillhere.plus.weekly), purchase, renewal, and expiration status, and store and sandbox environment information. - Entitlement status indicating whether your subscription is active for the “Still Here Pro” entitlement.
- Limited device and technical information needed to provide the purchase management service, such as device type and operating system version.
RevenueCat does not receive your check-in data, private notes or reflections, Tone Check input or results, pattern insights, partner signal text or replies, Tucked Box content, photos, audio, unsent drafts, partner identity or contact details, or any other app content. A local cache on your device stores only entitlement metadata (active/inactive status) to determine feature access.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To provide the core Still Here functionality — private check-ins, soft signals, reflection, and partner thread.
- To offer optional AI-assisted Tone Check results (processed entirely on your device).
- To generate private pattern insights from your check-in history (Plus feature).
- To maintain the app’s functionality and improve the user experience based on direct feedback, support requests, and local product behavior.
- To respond to your inquiries when you contact us.
- To maintain the security and stability of our website.
4. AI Processing and Tone Check
Still Here’s Tone Check feature runs entirely on your device. When Apple Foundation Models are available and you have an active Plus subscription, Tone Check uses Apple’s on-device AI framework. Otherwise, it uses a deterministic (rule-based) engine that works fully offline. The app does not operate its own server-based AI processing and does not use third-party AI APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or other external LLM providers.
Tone Check input text and results are local-only and ephemeral by default. If you choose to save them, they are stored in your private device or private iCloud storage — never in the shared partner store and never accessible to your partner. We do not use your data for training machine learning models.
5. Data Storage, iCloud, Sharing, and Security
Still Here uses a multi-store architecture designed to enforce privacy boundaries at the data layer:
- Local-sensitive store — data stored only on your device and never synced (e.g., Tone Check results, unsent drafts).
- Private (owner-only) iCloud — data synced across your own devices via your personal iCloud account, encrypted and inaccessible to your partner (e.g., check-in logs, private notes, reflections).
- Shared CloudKit store — only the data you explicitly choose to send to your partner (soft signals, replies, intent labels, scheduled talk times, connection display names).
No cross-store relationships exist. Data is linked across stores by UUID only, so a sync bug cannot leak private data into the shared zone. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
5.1 App Group and Widget Data Boundary
Still Here uses a shared App Group container to allow the main app and its widget to communicate. To protect your privacy, only a sanitized widget/thread snapshot may be written to the App Group — specifically, a state indicator, a safe signal preview, an active flag, and your partner’s initial. Check-ins, reflections, Tone Check data, private notes, pattern insights, unsent drafts, and entitlement detail are never written to the App Group container.
5.2 Local Notifications
Still Here uses only calm, intentional local notifications: signal arrived, reply arrived, scheduled talk reminder, check-in revisit prompt, and reflection follow-up. The app never sends notifications for passive partner activity such as online presence, opened status, read receipts, or typing indicators. All notifications are generated locally on your device and are not processed through external push notification services.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Still Here does not sell user data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. The app does not include analytics SDKs, tracking SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party marketing trackers. We share data only as described below:
- RevenueCat (purchase and subscription management). We share subscription and transaction metadata with RevenueCat, Inc. solely for the purpose of validating App Store receipts, managing subscription status, and delivering entitlements to your device. RevenueCat is contractually prohibited from using this data for any other purpose.
- With other service providers who help us operate the service (e.g., hosting infrastructure), under contractual data processing agreements.
- If required by law, to comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests.
- With your consent or at your direction.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — to request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data.
- Right to restrict processing — to request limitation of how we use your data.
- Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sales@ries-beratungen.de. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
8. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the app’s functionality or as required by law. When you delete Still Here from your device, data stored locally is removed. Data stored in your private iCloud container may persist according to Apple’s data retention policies. You can delete individual check-ins, reflections, and signals at any time within the app. Disconnecting from a partner revokes the shared CloudKit share and clears the shared store locally while preserving your private data.
9. Website Data and Third-Party Services
Our website is hosted by a professional hosting provider. The provider processes technical access data as described in Section 2.2.
This website loads font files from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When you visit our website, your browser may request these font files from Google’s servers, which may result in Google receiving your IP address and information about your browser and operating system. This data is controlled by Google and is subject to Google’s privacy policy. We chose Google Fonts as a common, reliable typeface delivery service and do not control what data Google collects through these requests.
Beyond the above, we do not use analytics services, cookies for tracking, or third-party embeds on our website. The website includes a waitlist email form that validates your email address locally in your browser; it does not submit your email to us unless and until a backend or email provider is connected. If a waitlist, newsletter, or contact provider is introduced in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect the new practices.
10. Children’s Privacy
Still Here is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
11. Advertising, Analytics, and Tracking
Still Here does not display advertising, does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA) for tracking, and does not sell personal data. The app does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs or crash reporting tools.
Still Here uses RevenueCat solely for subscription and purchase management. RevenueCat does not perform advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking functions, and no data is shared with RevenueCat for those purposes.
Still Here does not implement read receipts, last-seen indicators, online presence, typing indicators, passive partner activity tracking, or location tracking. These features are excluded by design to protect each user’s emotional safety and privacy.
12. International Data Transfers
If data is transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms. Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services may store data in data centers outside the EEA, subject to Apple’s data processing safeguards.
RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, may process subscription metadata on servers located in the United States (Amazon Web Services). Where such transfers occur, they are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
